CPI increased by 0.8% and PPI rose by 9.5% y-o-y in August

According to the information from the NBS, China’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 0.8% y-o-y and 0.1% m-o-m in August, 2021. Food price decreased by 4.1% and non-food price went up by 1.9%. CPI went up by 1% in urban and 0.3% in rural areas compared with last year.

China’s Producer Price Index (PPI) went up by 9.5% y-o-y and 0.7% m-o-m in August. Purchase prices of raw materials increased by 13.6% y-o-y and 0.8% m-o-m.

During January to August, PPI increased by 6.2% y-o-y and Purchase prices of raw materials increased by 8.6%.
